The Matador, renowned for its unique Mexican cuisine and massive collection of tequila and agave spirits, officially opens today in the heart of South End.
North Carolina native Zak Melang will be introducing Queen City residents to The Matador in Charlotte’s second oldest fire station at 1215 South Boulevard.
“As a North Carolina native, bringing Matador home to these vibrant communities is a dream come true,” Melang said. “We can’t wait to share our team’s hospitality with every guest who walks through our doors.”
The new Matador offers over 3,000 sq feet of indoor-outdoor seating, including a roof-top patio with stunning skyline views. The menu includes standout entrées such as the Braised Carnitas with pork shoulder, a lineup of unique carnitas, habenero, or Beyond Burritos, and epic brunch dishes like the Horchata French Toast and Chorizo Benedict.
They will feature one of Charlotte’s largest selections of agave spirits, with over 150 different tequilas and mezcals alone. Their scratch-made kitchen will pair the drinks with some truly unique and authentically Mexican creations.
