Global wealth fund behemoth Vanguard has just purchased one of the largest new office developments in the Charlotte region. The 91-acre 2.4 million square foot campus was going to be Centene’s new headquarters, but the project was halted in the middle of 2022 due the Covid’s work-from-home trend, among other factors.
According to the Charlotte Business Journal, Vanguard will use the new campus to consolidate their nearly 2,400 employees that are currently spread across several Charlotte-area offices.
The University City development includes modern office spaces and a wide array of amenities, including dedicated collaboration areas, a conference center, a full-service cafeteria, outdoor dining and recreational spaces, EV charging stations, and a fitness center.
The deal between Centene and Vanguard is currently being brokered by real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield and a price for the deal has not yet been disclosed.
