Tega Cay’s Sharpshooter Starting 160 Deer Golf Course Hunt – Residents Warned To Stay Away

The City of Tega Cay has just launched it’s new sharpshooting operation on a golf course to reduce the local population. City leaders are warning all residents to stay away or face stiff penalties.

The plan for the hunt is to eliminate 160 deer at the Tega Cay Golf Club over a two-week period, from January 22 to February 5, at an estimated cost of just over $94,000.

The sharpshooting operations are scheduled to occur from dusk till dawn – all trespassers will face steep fines and potential legal consequences.

The Tega Cay Wildlife Conservation Society has been vocally criticizing the city for its sharpshooting plan and for overlooking alternative methods like birth control darting, which they argue would do a much better job of longer term reduction of the deer population:

What do you think should be done?
