Charlotte’s popularity spiked in November – It climbed up a whopping 41 places since last month, securing the 33rd position among America’s hottest rental spots, according to a new report by RentCafe.
What’s more, it’s now the second most desired city among apartment hunters in North Carolina, second only to Raleigh. Besides locals, most people looking to rent in Charlotte are currently living in Atlanta, Raleigh or New York.
Here are more highlights for Charlotte:
- In November, views of Raleigh apartments rose by 11% compared to this time last year, which means apartment hunters’ interest in securing a rental here is growing.
- High demand led to a 23% drop in available apartments year-over-year, leaving renters with fewer options to choose from.
- Charlotte is the 2nd most desired city in North Carolina in November. Other cities in the state that got renters’ attention this month are Raleigh (#30 in the U.S.), Durham (#44) and Cary (#60). By contrast, Greensboro (#104), Winston-Salem (#106) and Fayetteville (#145) didn’t make it into the upper half of our list of 150 cities.
- Nationwide, Minneapolis is the most desired location by renters in November, with a 150% year-over-year increase in apartment views and a 162% rise in saved personalized searches. The Midwest dominates November’s top 30 list of cities with the most rental activity, while Sun Belt destinations gained ground with seven new entries.
