The Panthers’ offense struggled, totaling just 213 yards, their season-low. Rookie quarterback Bryce Young completed 21 of 38 passes for 185 yards.
Ihmir Smith-Marsette scored for the Panthers with a 79-yard punt return touchdown, their first since 2017. He had previously averaged 6.8 yards per return.
Mike Strachan, called up from the practice squad, made a significant impact with a 45-yard reception from Young, the longest of his career. Strachan, a former seventh-round pick by the Colts, is likely to see increased playtime following strong practice performances and this game’s showing.
