This morning, an armored truck crashed and spilled a full load of cash onto North Charlotte’s Sunset Road. The incident led to significant traffic delays around the area, especially near the intersection of Sunset and Reames roads near Interstate 77.
Charlotte’s Fox 46 News confirmed that an armored truck and at least 1 other vehicle were involved in the wreck.
QC Nerve‘s Ryan Pitkin tweeted some pictures of the accident and stated, “About 25 minutes ago there was a money run on Sunset Road near I-77 after this GardaWorld truck dropped 3-4 large metal boxes of money onto the street that opened and sent bills flying. One witness told me they saw folks running in different directions hugging bundles of money.”

CMPD posted on Twitter this morning about the accident, but for obvious reasons, they chose to leave out the part that it was an armored car spilling cash:
